Ghost Phone Call?

Hi, this is Lauren. I was just looking around on your site and decided to
tell you about this odd experience My friend and I had. Well, about 2 weeks
ago, My best friend and I were up at about 1:30 in the morning. We were
about to look up scary things on the computer in my parents apartment just
to scare us because we obviously had nothing better to do. Right as I was
about to sit down at the computer desk, my phone rang. Not thinking, My
friend jumped up to answer it. I looked at her all funny and said "Umm, look
at the time.." She looked at how late it was and then pretty much fell on me
trying to run away from the phone. We sat there in shock for a few minutes,
not knowing what to do. I said "I don't feel like being in here anymore,
lets walk over to my apartment." So, we walked over there and I quickly
realized that my phone was in there. I didn't think anything about it
anymore, I was over the whole incident. Well, we talking on my bed for about
10 minutes and all of a sudden, my phone rang again. We looked at each
other, frightened for a moment, but I was too curious. So, I ran for the
phone. I paused for a moment and then answered it. What was on the other
line really surprised me. There was a loud "Psssshh" sound and someone was
trying to tell me something on the other end. Frightened by how scary it
was, I threw the phone across the room. It broke as it smashed against the
wall. I picked it up and tried to fix it, but I didn't work anymore. I put
the phone on the table and went to sleep because I couldn't handle all the
odd phone calls anymore. I fell asleep and woke up again at about 3 in the
morning because of the phone ringing. I woke my friend up because I knew my
phone was broke and I had no idea how someone was calling me. I ran into the
kitchen, grabbed the phone, and answered it. The static sound was back and
someone was saying hello. I said "Um, who is this??" They replied with
"MaryAnn." MaryAnn was my grandmother, who passed on about 4 years ago. I
looked shocked and then she said "Is your mother there?" I said no and she
said "Well Lauren, please tell her I called." I believe she said one other
thing, but I couldn't hear through all the static. It frightened me so much
and I haven't stayed up late ever since. I really didn't think it was a
prank, it was too odd to be a prank. I mean, what are the odds of getting
that phone call at that time.. and it just happened to sound like my
grandmother and had my grandmothers name. I was
just looking at the site because I wanted some more info on ghost phone
calls. Thanks for reading my story.

Sincerely,
 Lauren
